she wore an...

first surrey (for some reason we call them catamarans) ride around Cape May for Ivy! ..."My head feels so heavy!"
"Oh, Daddy, I sure do love to ring this bell! Watch out people, here I come!"...Yeah, the novelty of the 1-hour surrey ride lasted about 10 minutes, after which we didn't need the bell, as the screams of our wee one(as well as Ivy hurling her bottle into the street like a common drunk) announced our travels through the streets of quaint Cape May.
It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, multi-colored polka-dot bikini that she wore for the first time today!
It moves through my fingers and makes streams in the wind...it's maaaagical!

bare butts take all!

We certainly aren't bummed about announcing bare butt as the uncontested winner of our first blog poll (cloth, diaper, or bare butt). To help celebrate, here's a shot of a lil' beach bum down in Cape May.

I'm just sampling this rosemary, mommy!...and the basil...and the thyme! (sing: ivy, basil, rosemary and thyme!...)

Mistress Carrie, Green Thumb Fairy, How Does Your Rooftop Garden Grow?

So, this year I decided to try and grow both vegetables and flowers (as well as continuing to grow my sweet Ivy) on our back deck. Who says veggies can't grow in a city garden? Ivy loves to help out in the garden, albeit primarily through yanking off and/or eating the flowers, and trying to guzzle whatever rainwater the watering can has managed to collect!
mmm...the perfect summertime drink!
my first little beanling!
If you look real hard, you can see I-95 in the background - this is truly a city garden, people! What a gorgeous garden gnome!
