aunt jenny's jovial july visit

yeah, yeah, yeah, i know it's been forever (again) since i've posted. join with me in getting over it and enjoy the pic's already, won't you? anyway, aunt jenny came out for a visit in july and the girls loved spending time with their aunt! above and below are shots from cousin zolani's 2nd birthday party (yes, pic's from ivy's coming soon!)

i adore this pic - so much joy in both of their faces! ivy loves her aunt jenny (and grapes, as it would seem!)
aunt jenny & ivy on the carousel at franklin square...note the trepidous look on ivy's face...this disappeared by the end of the ride, and a healthy chorus of "again, mommy!" began!

fam time with sand and surf!

dahlia is able to sleep...well, just about anywhere! - at a loss for where to have her sleep at the beach, our big beach bag came to the rescue - cozy and cute miss nippers (or nappers, in this case)!
of course, after seeing her little sis asleep in the basket, ivy was not to be outdone! in she went soon after miss nippers woke up, but somehow ivy didn't manage to fall asleep in the basket (or anywhere, that is, until she got into the backpack on daddy's back - when her head lolled forward, daddy looked like a two-headed monster walking around cape may!

desperately seeking updates...

above is ivy in her spankin' new pool on our deck - the lil' miss just can't get enough of the summer sun & splashing about in any water! at any rate, i know it has been forever since i posted - i have two cute little excuses, plus the fact that i have been trying to upload video and apparently can't find an easy path on this new computer, so bear with me. in light of recent chiding for not having posted, here are a bunch of photos - some older (near the bottom), some newer. needless to say, we're adoring our two wee girls, and the adjustment from one to two children has been more seamless than we ever dared hope possible! so, i'll post videos as i get a clue, and in the meantime, enjoy these photos! xoxo

my little surfer girls

first kidd family trip to the beach - 6.24.09 - at first ivy was reluctant to so much as touch a toe in the sand, however once daddy tricked her into building a sand castle, she could not be stopped - running up and down the beach and brazenly into the waves (NO fear which provoked MUCH fear in mommy & daddy) - note the feet held precariously above the sand in the shot below!

happy birthday, dahlia!

happy birthday to dahlia jeanne kidd! we were blessed with her arrival at 4:15am on saturday, may 30, 2009 after 5 hours and 30 minutes of intense and beautiful labor. she wieghed in at 6 lbs, 10oz, and measured 21inches. we had such an amazing birth journey with our friends at the birth center, and literally could not have asked for things to go smoother!
the birth team...kate, griffin, mama (with dahlia's head peeping out), denise (my midwife), and carly (my birth nurse...her shirt says "trust birth"...amen!)

first happy family shot in our suite at the birth center
ivy holds little sister for the first time...she was/is acutally remarkably gentle and sweet with dahlia. every little noise dahlia makes, ivy says "it's ok, dahlia" and kisses her. she is constantly wanting to hold, tickle, and pat her little sis...we could not ask for her to be more welcoming! she is an amazing big sister!

ivy & daddy having some lunch in the kitchen at the birth center...ivy showing her enthusiasm for the mac & cheese!
we spent much of the afternoon in the birth center's garden - it was a positively gorgeous day & i felt like the most blessed woman on the planet, with my wonderful hubby and two gorgeous, healthy daughters!
ivy also loved running from one end of the garden to the other...note her stylin' hipster boots - when we dropped her off at megan and peter's, i forgot to pack/leave shoes, so these were borrowed from tristan!
12-hour-old toes...scrumptous beyond compare...
